Cristina Prenestina

We had the pleasure of interviewing Cristina Prenestina, the drag queen who tells tales to children.
From the creation of Cristina’s character, this clear forward-thinking vision towards the world is born and hence the need to share thoughts with the youngest members of society.

With her, we have dealt with issues of all kinds: inclusion, school, acceptance of the “different”, evolution of genres.

FRANCESCO, STAGE NAME CRISTINA

Francesco, graduated in 2011 and decided to move to Rome to work as a social worker, being in contact especially with children. From that moment on, his occupation proceeded in full swing, discovering an inner passion in this new vocation.

Shortly after he started working,  he began to feel the need to join the world of show business that he had previously suppressed and ignored, largely due to the fact that the idea of having ambitions to work in the entertainment industry was mostly criticized and shamed  by the community Francesco grew up in.

The time had come for the birth of a new Drag Queen, playing the role of Cristina Prenestina.

CRISTINA PRENESTINA: THE IDEA OF TELLING FAIRY TALES TO CHILDREN

From the creation of Cristina’s character, this clear forward-thinking vision towards the world is born and hence the need to share thoughts with the youngest members of society.

Cristina herself claims that she is still cultivating the values that were taught to her at the time by fairy tales, such as the character of Bell, in Beauty and The Beast.

Children have this great ability to internalize what is told to them and to carry it with them for the rest of their lives, making it imperative to share a diverse selection of stories to represent the diversity of roads each young person will navigate on their journey to adulthood.
